Love INC of Metro Tampa cultivates leadership in serving our guests.
“The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between the two, the leader must become a servant and a debtor. That sums up the progress of an artful leader. ― Max DePree, Leadership is an Art

“Teach me to Serve.” In responding to this request, we routinely explain that a typical journey with Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) often starts with attending a “lunch-n-learn” overview of Love INC basics. This is followed by an invitation to serve through a manageable, reasonable volunteer opportunity, like helping assemble our newsletter. As new volunteers “dip a toe in the Love INC pool”, they begin a journey of transformational communication, connection and community change.
This might be current volunteers or staff telling stories to new volunteers of how our trained resource coordinators “love on” the guests entrusted to their care. Led by example, new volunteers can elect to take a next step, and accept an assignment to be in relationship with one of our guests. Paired with and shadowing a trained volunteer, they may experience the holistic, transformational journey of guest, volunteer and community—from chaos to shalom; lives lived as God intended.
“Special Sauce”a new Love INC Board of Directors (BOD) member recently inquired: “What is the ‘special sauce’ of Love INC of Metro Tampa? What accounts for our outcomes, given the age (two +years) of our affiliate?” Answers include “God’s provision” and “the passion, commitment and leadership of co-founders Ann and Michael Doyle.” While we have had a hand on the rudder during the formation and launch, the core question now is “who are the leaders that will guide and manage of our affiliate as it scales from current twelve churches to a fully mature ministry, composed of 50+ churches, 500+ resource navigators, 2,500 volunteers and dozens of ministries?”
“Leaders are also responsible for future leadership. They need to identify, develop, and nurture future leaders.” ― Max DePree, Leadership is an Art.
Love INC’s current leadership is actively identifying, training and nurturing our affiliate’s future leaders like Tom and Geri Henry, from within. Ann and I have communicated to our BOD, staff and volunteers our plans to retire from full time ministry 12/31/2020. Between now and then, we are solidifying our affiliate on administrative, programing and financial grounds. For Love INC to flourish, we pray for wisdom, discernment and His provision of visionary, servant heart, emerging leaders, including Tom and Geri Henry, to accept the “passing of the baton” and lead our ministry to new heights and community outcomes.
Imagine the possibilities.
