Reliable transportation can be the difference between progress and setback.

For Guests like Suzanne—and families like Lava’s—mobility means access to work, stability, and independence. While donated cars are life-changing for individuals, many of our Guests still face another transportation barrier:

They cannot afford the cost of their family’s travel to our REACH Transformational Ministry. 

Even when a donation is available, they cannot afford the cost of moving furniture.

They cannot fully step into the stability they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

The Need

Many REACH participants lack reliable transportation to attend our  Faith & Finances, Healthy Boundaries, Affirming Potential and Work Life courses.

Families transitioning from shelters into housing often receive furniture vouchers from trusted community partners—but without affordable moving services, those vouchers go unused and homes remain empty.

Transportation is the missing link.

The Solution: 

A Passenger Transit Van with Room for Cargo

 

With support from 100 Shares of Tampa Bay, Love INC has secured most of the funding to purchase a multi-configuration transit van to launch Love on Wheels as both:

• Safe transportation to REACH programming
•  Affordable moving services for families transitioning out of homelessness

This van will help increase REACH participation by 138% in 2026 (compared to our launch in the fall of 2024) and expand our ability to serve more neighbors with dignity and practical support.

The Details:

The 2025 Ford 350 XL Transit Van

This 2025 Ford Transit van features low mileage, removable seats and a three-year warranty—it’s exactly what we’ve been looking for!  It checks every box for providing transportation for our REACH Transformational Ministry and future furniture moving configurations–which opens the door to further develop a social enterprise.

The purchase price is $56,811.90, which is about $14,512 more than we originally budgeted through the 100 Shares grant.  We additionally need to fund $5000 a year in auto insurance, $1200 in gas and–eventually–$12-15K a year in moving support costs.

To help offset the first  year of expanded operational costs, we’ve increased our 2026 Love on Wheels campaign goal to $25K and this fundraising campaign will run concurrently with ​our semi-annual fundraising breakfast campaign. This event is planned for 7:30am Tuesday, Apr 28, 2026.

The Immediate Need: $25,000

Before we can put this van on the road, we must secure:

✔ Proper passenger insurance coverage
✔ Operational protection for drivers and ministry activities

We are prayerfully seeking $25,000 to underwrite the annual insurance and operational cost required to safely operate Love on Wheels.

 

 

We’d like to confirm foundational sponsorships by April 10, 2026 to ensure the van is insured and operational for the rest of our spring REACH semester (ending in June of 2026) and ready to launch in for the fall REACH season.
