Love INC of Metro Tampa Announces Major Changes Amongst Board of Directors

Love Inc of Metro Tampa celebrates new board members and chairperson, as Jim Rossman transitions out of long-term role.

TAMPA, FL  – Today, Love INC of Metro Tampa announced the appointment of Thaddeus Bereday, a current Love INC board member, to Jim Rossman’s longtime role as Board of Directors chairperson. Thaddeus Bereday is a long-serving Board of Directors member who has been committed to his part in Love INC of Metro Tampa’s community-wide transformation efforts. Love INC’s philosophy of Redemptive Compassion® features six core principles. One of the principles in this Biblical call to holistic help is to “help everyone achieve their God-given potential.” Thaddeus’ life story is reflective of this principle, as he was once incarcerated and presidentially pardoned; choosing now in his second chance at life to serve others as a criminal justice reform advocate. Love INC of Metro Tampa is more than pleased to have this volunteer-mentor step into the great role and legacy of board chairperson that Jim Rossman has refined since 2017.

“I am privileged and humbled to assume this role following Jim Rossman. He has personally supported me in ways that have shaped my journey in serving the community. The foundation he has built for Love INC as chairperson in our first 6 years of the organization will sustain us for many years to come,” Thaddeus Bereday, incoming Chairperson.

As Love INC of Metro Tampa celebrates Thaddeus Bereday’s greater capacity within the organization, they also celebrate the leadership and dedication of Jim Rossman. Jim began his service with Love INC long before the organization’s formal launch. He has been instrumental in the development of the organization’s sustainable fundraising strategies and has been active in the partnership between Love INC  and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he is a longtime parishioner. While Jim transitions out of his board chair role, we are pleased that he will continue serving as chairperson emeritus, focusing on the organization’s long-term strategy and scale.

Love INC Metro Tampa Executive DirectorEvan D. Smith says of the transition, “We could not have been more blessed to have Jim leading our organization as board chairperson. He has provided a steadiness— crucial to the building of a good organization and we have relied on him for much of our strategic innovation. We also look forward to experiencing the fresh energy that Thad offers, and anticipate will take Love INC to new places of growth.”

Thaddeus will be joined by new board members, Sarah Couture, Florida State Director for the Fines and Fees Justice Center, and David Adams, partner at Bennett, Jacobs & Adams, P.A. – who will kick off their service in September.
